No matter what events mark our summer season (perhaps shifts and changes with job or expectations, helping elderly relatives, trauma, even a tragic misplacement of home) we can be confident that God is taking care of us. A Place of Rest
Yes, I pray that both you and I would wrap ourselves in the quilt of FAITH starting here and now. It’s faith that leads to a restful, calm, trusting life. Even when we are surrounded on every side. Even when physically it looks like things can’t possibly work out.
Deep Restoration
It is often in these mindful moments… the space that is made… that we can finally see and hear God. He’s been here all along, but often our urgent to-do-lists, social connections and life situations cause us to put Him on hold— when really it would majorly benefit us to learn the skill of putting life on hold for our connection with the Lord.
Waves of Grace
As the next wave licked my toes I heard His whisper in my heart. “Just as sure as challenges and situations are to come and come, constantly with no stop, even more so my love, my presence comes in over and over again.”
Gold Grace
There is never a situation that is bigger than the grace that God supplies. My mother and grandmother live clothed in this gold grace…
The Better Path

Yet hope was restored at the mere mention of Aslan’s name. “Aslan is on the move,” was the proclamation that traveled from beaver dam, to tiny house, to living trees of the woods. “Aslan is on the move,” they would say to encourage their own hearts as much as others.
Safe, Secure, and Held
So, Dear One, snuggle close to Him. Yes, press your head to his chest until you hear his heart beating. It beats with love for you. Feel the gentle kindness of His attention on you– His arm hand holding you safe. He will pull us through. All we need to do in this moment is to rest and trust.
Fully Present
I learned about living in the present moment from my creative, life-loving Grandma Huston. Oh, no we never had a conversation about it, but just observing her for a day (or even just a good ten minutes!) you would realize that she lived differently. She lived in the moment and said YES to the opportunities brought to her.
An Unlimited Supply
Growing up, we had a crystal cookie jar. Yes, crystal! It was impossible to open that jar without alerting my mother (and maybe the whole house) to the fact that I was sneaking…
