To all my “Rosemary Chronicles” Readers

Dear Readers,

Can I tell you something? You are my muse, my inspiration. I never imagined when I started “The Rosemary Chronicles” that the story would grow this big, last this long, or reach this many readers. I feel very humbled and blessed that it has meant something to someone.

To be honest with you, I miss the characters, the world of the story, the situations and dilemmas they faced every day. I loved writing my heart out and editing later, sometimes coming up with some very crazy and hilarious situations. I miss posting to you, dear readers, the my weekly chapter of “The Rosemary Chronicles”. I miss it, yet I also know it is time to move on. I wish I could announce here with great flourish what the next project will be. I know many of you have wanted me to continue Rosemary’s story… perhaps I will some day I will but for now, something else stirs in my soul, begging to be written. I stare at the screen, trying to summon the words to come… yet it is not quite time. I will continue to write, continue to pray and thank God for the next story He has for me to share, but in the mean time, know that I am thankful for you and will be over the moon excited to share the next story of my heart with you.

I will post here as my new writing unfolds.

Thank you for this wonderful, wonderful journey.

Melanie

About Melanie

Hi New Friend,

I’m Melanie Talevski. Thank you for stopping in to visit. I wish I could offer you a cup of tea, or coffee, whatever is your preference and we could sit across from each other in plush chairs like they have at Barnes and Noble. We’d settle in for a good heart to heart talk. Perhaps we would be here in the suburbs of Denver, where I live with my husband and three children. The snow could be drifting down outside the window as we talk, or it could be sunny and sixty degrees. Or it could be both in the same day, as truly this happens more often than you might think. I’d have a mug of my favorite in hand: chai tea latte. We’d be in no hurry to pass the time, but just enjoy getting to know each other.

Here are a few of the things I would share with you:

I am on a journey… A journey of being authentic. In the way I live and in the way I write. I’ve been on the sidelines for awhile, even had my share of years of hiding, denying. But something miraculous is happening… God is calling me to come up, to come further (any “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe” fans here? Best allegory ever).

Continuing with that theme, I’m a Lucy… as I am sure you are too or perhaps you identify with Peter, or Susan or Edmund more. I have been on the outside of the wardrobe but now… now I am discovering this path leads to a whole new world. It’s this magical land that only opens when one’s heart is ready. Just recently, the door opened to me. I was surprised, but knew what needed to be done. So I’m taking one unsteady step after another, but my gaze is on the one who stands before me, the great Aslan. Side by side, I have a feeling he’s going to lead me to discover new sights, new goals, new purposes.

I have always loved writing & words since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I’d come up with a story or write encouraging notes to family and friends. My writing skills & research skills were put to the test when I earned my bachelor’s degree in Church Ministries at SAGU, and I continued to hone those skills in writing original curriculum for the Kids’ Ministry of our church here in Denver for fifteen plus years.

Somehow, my life has always had an under-current of writing. In good times and bad, I find myself turning to the pen and the page. My closet full of completed journals proves that point, the first one starting when I was just 6 years old. Somehow writing has always been my way of figuring out my unique, God-given story. I’m in the process of learning to share my journey knowing that there are others like me, who hunger for authenticity in this walk called life. For my most recent work, I wrote based on Hallmark’s television series, When Calls the Heart. “The Rosemary Chronicles” was completed November 2019.

I’m excited to share with you the new things God has for me to write. I hope that they will inspire you and encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
